The cherry blossom is called "Sakura" in Japanese. There are about 600 kinds of cherry blossoms, the most famous kind of cherry blossom is called "Someiyoshino". The oldest tree of cherry blossoms is estimated to be over 1800 years old. The cherry blossom is not a national flower, but it is a flower representing Japan from ancient. The blooming time is dependent on temperature in February and March, but it is from end of March to early April every year. The various cherry blossoms can be seen throughout the Japan. In Japan, it is called "Hanami" to see the cherry blossoms. However, "Hanami" has another meaning. "Daigo-ji" is one of tnmple in Kyoto. Famous "Hanami" was performed for the first time by Hideyoshi Toyotomi in the 16th. century.
